What high altitude considerations should I be mindful of?

Answer

Drink extra water on top of what you think is already extra water! Alcohol tends to have a greater impact at high altitude, pace yourself. The sun is more intense, wear sunscreen even when it's overcast! The temperature can change drastically in very short time periods. It's common to go from a sunny and 70 degree day to a 40 degree night as soon as the sun sets! Wildlife is common in the area - moose, wolves, deer, mountain lions, rattlesnakes - please be aware! There is also an abundance of livestock, watch out for cattle on the roads and livestock guardian dogs watching over their sheep flocks.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at 4pm, there will be a short walk to the ceremony site from the parking area.

What is the parking/transportation situation at the venue?

Answer

There is limited parking available at the venue, please carpool as much as possible. We will not be providing transportation to and from the venue, so plan accordingly for a sober driver! Ubers & Lyfts are available near downtown Steamboat Springs, but are not commonly obtainable from our venue.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We encourage "Autumn Cocktail Attire" for the wedding - imagine velvets, knits, & tweeds in seasonal colors! Our ceremony and reception will be outdoors, please consider layers and grass-friendly footwear. The evenings tend to get rather brisk in the mountains, please plan warmly!
