They met in the summer of 2016. They were both leaders for their church's youth group (but at campuses an hour apart), and were attending the youth summer camp at Big Canyon Ranch in Wanship, UT. They met the first morning there while they were both grabbing a cup of coffee from the dining hall. Kayleigh doesn't remember much from the interaction, but Luc remembers thinking that she was a really cute girl.

The summer of 2017 they reconnected at their youth group's mission trip. Over the course of the next three months they were brought together in many different ways. Each time they interacted Kayleigh's crush grew more and more, and so did Luc's. After many long conversations and a lot of thought they decided it was time to pursue a relationship. They started dating in November 2018. Luc left for a semester abroad in Cali, Colombia that January and they spent 5 months dating long distance. Although it was hard, they wouldn't trade that time for anything. After his time in Colombia Luc returned to Logan and they were able to pick their relationship back up in person. They have learned a lot about each other since the summer God brought them together. Each new step they take in their relationship makes them love each other more and more!

After just over a year of dating, Luc decided it was time to pop the question. He wanted so badly to be able to catch her off guard and truly surprise her with the proposal. She wasn't making that very easy on him. He knew that if he tried anything big or extravagant that his plans would be given away, so the day was just like any other. Early that morning Kayleigh woke up, drove to Luc's, and they headed to church to lead worship. After 5 1/2 hours at church Kayleigh was ready for a nap. So they headed back to Luc's, where Kayleigh napped and Luc did some household chores (so romantic, right?) After Kayleigh woke up they went to the grocery store and then went home to cook dinner. They cooked their favorite meal together: curry. Just as they were about to sit down and eat Luc said he had to grab something from outside and asked Kayleigh to come with. Without a second thought she followed. He opened the front door and on the porch were a bunch of candles and photos of the two of them (thanks Kelly, Chasen, Maddie, and Trevor). As soon as Kayleigh saw the candles she knew. So Luc got down on his knee and asked her to marry him. She very enthusiastically said YES!
