Here’s the story of how Brendan and Kayleigh met...a few times. Kayleigh and Brendan first met at Purdue in 2010. Brendan was stuck in a sweaty gorilla suit, and Kayleigh was channeling Lady Gaga with cans and Neon Cactus cups in her hair. Sadly, the two were not properly introduced. They didn't meet again until 2014, at a New Years party. Adam had the ultimate surprise for Kayleigh, "a straight man." Kayleigh was unprepared for such a meeting, but the two ended up dancing to Whitney Houston's "I wanna dance with somebody" and were awkward for the most of the night. They took zero pictures together, because that's how they roll. The two started chatting more and more online and even making actual phone calls to each other. Brendan would make more trips to Chicago to meet up, and the two eventually went on their actual first "date" date. The two planned to explore the city, but that was quickly detoured when Brendan almost instantly got a flat tire. With some coaching from Kayleigh's dad, the two bonded while changing a tire in the middle of church parking lot in downtown Chicago and were promptly kicked out. Kayleigh made her way to Milwaukee to visit Brendan. Brendan took Kayleigh to all of his favorite spots, including the Safe House. Kayleigh was shocked with a birthday mystery ride called "Her Majesty." Brendan was determined to show Kayleigh Colorado, so the two took their first vacation to Denver. Brendan dragged her to the side of a mountain at night, in the middle of winter to say the first, "I love you." It was a perfectly terrifying gesture, because the two were not sure of type of nocturnal wildlife would be lurking around the corner. From there, the two frequented breweries, distilleries, drag shows, and vegan restaurants together. Brendan decided to move to Munster, and the pair quickly and unexpectedly adopted Bowie. Four New Years' after they met, Brendan proposed at Kayleigh's favorite restaurant. She said "Fuck off" and eventually yes.
