This is where we had our official first date! We love this little wine bar that has an excellent happy hour (until 5 pm daily). Marcus’ favorite is the Prosciutto and Brie Sandwich with the Stagedive Pinot Noir. And Kaylei’s favorite is the West Coaster sandwich with the Costa Red Blend.
Obviously you need to hit up In-N-Out if you do not have it where you live! Marcus’ goes to is a double-double with a shake. Kaylei’s is a double-double (animal style) with a Diet Coke. Fun fact: we listened to the book all about In-N-Out on one of our roadtrips and can now tell you super random facts about it!
Do we recommend this? It’s a Colorado staple so we have to add it to the list! It has been recently redone and the food is not quite as bad and the inside has been cleaned up a lot. It’s a fun and kitschy place to check out now that the South Park creators have taken over! They do have a pre-fixed menu that is a little pricy in our opinion. You do need to make reservations far in advance!
105 Brewing Company is our favorite brewery! Tucked into the corner of Castle Rock - it is a hidden gem with a rotating list of brews. They are veteran owned and have a different charity they donate to each month. If it’s on the menu - the beermosa is great!
Los Dos is probably our favorite restaurant in all of Colorado. The margaritas are excellent and we always share the molcajete! They are all over the state but the one in Castle Rock has the best views!
Santiago’s are around the state and we LOVE their breakfast burrito. It is always our first stop on our camping trips!
The coolest concert venue in the country! Even if you are not here to see a show, it has some amazing hikes and photo opportunities. It’s very close to the venue and a must see if you have never visited before! Fun fact: one of the first things Kaylei and Marcus talked about was how he needed to see the sunrise at Red Rocks (truth is she had only done it once and had to be dragged there).
This is one of our favorite hikes near our venue. The whole trail is over 7 miles but you can stop once you get to the the spot where they were going to build a White House of the Rockies! The elevation is not too bad here and there are a lot of trails to choose from!
This old barn holds a bunch of unique booths and shops through out it. We recommend all of downtown Castle Rock but for sure stop here! Fun fact: every year the town of Castle Rock has a “Star Lighting Ceremony” to start the holiday season. The read the same poem, sing Silent Night, and then light the star! You can see it on the iconic rock that the town got its name for, even if it isn’t lit up. You can also hike to the top!
Looking to do some shopping while you are in town? The Outlets are fun and have everything you could need! Bonus is that there is an In-n-out right in the parking lot! You can also see “big Jack” while you are there this time of year!
Voted the best zoo in the country! It’s unique, in that it is on the side of a mountain. You can also feed the giraffes!
