Where It All Began

A journey of friendship, adventure, and finding home.

A journey of friendship, adventure, and finding home. Kaylee and Ryan first met more than three years ago through church at Junction City First Christian Church, the very place where they will say “I do.” At the time, neither knew just how important that shared space would become, only that life kept gently placing them in each other’s orbit. Over the next few years, they were in and out of each other’s lives in a way that felt easy and familiar. They knew each other, talked occasionally, and shared enough moments to build a quiet foundation of trust and friendship. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was forced. They simply grew comfortable being part of the same story, even if they didn’t yet realize where it was headed. Everything changed last August, helped along by a Scandinavian Festival, that very church’s booth Ryan spends far too much time in, and a lot of conversation. After days of talking and laughing far more than planned, Kaylee ended the weekend by inviting herself to help Ryan take the kids to summer camp. Somewhere during the six-plus hours of driving and some of the worst sushi in Oregon, between that simple invitation and the ease of being together, it became clear that what had been quietly growing was ready to become something more. When they began dating, it didn’t feel new, it felt right. What surprised them wasn’t how quickly things moved, but how natural it all was. After years of friendship, shared values, and mutual care, love didn’t need time to catch up. It was already there, waiting for the right moment. And they are so grateful that moment finally arrived and excited for you to join them where it all began this coming August.
