Just your typical, "we met in a bar" story...

For those of you who don't know, Ben and Kaylee did meet in a bar...but there is a little more to the story. Kaylee started at Western Washington University in 2010. She, OBVIOUSLY, had tons of friends and those friends had other friends and one of them happened to attend High School with Ben. When Ben moved to Bellingham to attend WWU in 2012 he moved into what Kaylee would only describe as a "frat house" where many parties were thrown. It is here where the two were first briefly introduced. It is important to note that Ben was dressed as a penguin. A few months later, at a bar called the Up and Up (RIP), the two met again. Kaylee said "hi" and Ben said, "I don't know you" and walked away. A few beers later, the two bumped into each other once more. It is then that the two finally had their first real conversation. Kaylee said her laptop was broken and Ben said he could fix it. They made arrangements to meet up for him to fix it and the rest is history. He wasn't able to fix it, but in hindsight that doesn't even matter.

How COVID impacted our 2020

When the virus was first 'introduced' we both had no idea the impact it would have on the world. We both felt that it would be over and done with and we would have nothing to be worried about by the time October rolled around. But, boy were we wrong. We put off planning through May, then June, then July and once August rolled around with very little improvement to COVID and absolutely zero planning for our wedding we decided to talk more seriously about postponing. We both knew it was very important to us to have you all there, and the idea of not being able to celebrate with you all was a tough pill to swallow. However, we had no doubt in our minds that the safety of everyone far outweighed anything else. Luckily for us, our venue is amazing and allowed us to have a very small ceremony that gave us the privilege of becoming husband and wife without putting anyone at risk. As sad as we are to have had to postpone, we feel confident in our decision and CANNOT WAIT to celebrate with everyone in 2021.
