It was Taco Tuesday. Four days after Kaylee’s birthday and three days before Ty’s, separate celebrations lead to a fortuitous meeting. Both went to Homewood High School, however they had never met before. After chatting for a while about their shared past and current lives, the two exchanged numbers and parted ways for the evening. A few days later, Kaylee sent Ty a ‘happy birthday’ text. Seizing upon this opportunity he asked Kaylee to join him for dinner. They went to a local Mexican restaurant, Sabor Latino. Hoping to impress, Ty ordered in Spanish. The dinner flew by as they quickly grew more and more comfortable with the other’s company. What started as a chance encounter, turned into a series of dates. The weeks turned into months, and into years. During the summer of 2018, on the top of Mt Le Conte, Ty proposed to Kaylee. After a few, tense seconds that felt like an eternity, she happily said, “yes!” We can’t wait to start our lives together as husband and wife!
