How we came to be!

We met the summer before freshman year at Texas A&M during Impact Camp. On the first day of classes, I recognized Travis and we ended up sitting next to each other for the entire semester. We quickly became friends, and for my 19th birthday, I invited him to come dance with my friends and me at Harry’s. He showed up just to dance two songs with me, little did I know, he already had a crush. The next semester, we ended up in the same chemistry class (fitting, right?). Our friendship kept growing, and somewhere along the way, Travis taught me how to drive the Bronco. During a spring break trip with our friend group, he finally asked me out on a date. After three sweet dates, on Aggie Ring Day, he asked me to be his girlfriend with a Ring Pop. Fast forward two years, in early October, Travis bought a ring and asked my parents for their blessing. Even though I was convinced every weekend could be the weekend, I had no idea the proposal was actually happening that day. With the help of our family and friends (who’d been in on the surprise for months), Travis planned a “game night” to throw me off. While I was getting ready to go pick up groceries for dinner, Travis snuck out, and suddenly, up walked my little dog from home, Lacey. I stepped into the living room to find my family waiting with a note and a Ring Pop from Travis that said, “Today’s the day.” My girlfriends came over to help me get ready and set up our engagement party. Travis came back to pick me up, blindfolded me to keep the surprise, and took me to a quiet pond in College Station. There, I saw glowing “Marry Me” letters, a picnic blanket, flowers, and a Bible with my soon-to-be new last name. He asked me to marry him, and I said yes! From a Ring Pop to the real thing, this is just the beginning! We’re so grateful for how the Lord has guided our story so far and can’t wait to see what He does through our marriage! "Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance." Jude 1:2
