Matt and Kaylee met the modern way, on a dating app designed to be deleted (good marketing Hinge). Their first date was at a local bar in Tacoma. If Matt's smile wasn't enough to steal Kaylee's heart, his dinosaur impersonation definitely did later that evening. They continued seeing each other going on hikes on the weekends, late night food runs since Matt worked swings and exploring the PNW. They began officially dating in January of 2019 and it's been an amazing rollercoaster of fun and weird ever since. From Netflix date nights over the phone while Matt was stationed in California, to being on lock down in a 900 sq ft home and not being able to hide their own brands of weird from each other anymore, they've always accepted and embraced each others true forms no matter how quirky. Fast forward to 2021, a very big year for Matt and Kaylee especially towards the end. Matt was beginning to separate from the Air Force and some big decisions were needing to be made, but one of them was easy, that the next chapter would be with Kaylee. So during September of 2021 Matt had made dinner reservations at a rooftop restaurant with Kaylee under the impression it was a goodbye dinner for their friends who were moving out of Washington. During the dinner as the sun began to set Matt said he had an announcement. This was when he revealed it was a dinner to ask Kaylee to be his wife. She said yes and together they began building their future. As many may know, Matt and Kaylee decided to elope on December 18th of 2021 since a lot of big changes were being made and covid was still impacting weddings. Now that they've made their big move from one coast to the other, have settled in their new home and covid has calmed, they're ready to celebrate with all their loved ones. They hope to see you there as everyone who's been invited has been an important foundation in one if not both of their lives.
