The Beginning

3/19/2014

7 years ago we first met at Jefferson High School. Jered was a Sophomore and I was a Freshman. February 2014, I sat with Jered during a varsity basketball game because who I normally sat with, the person who is now going to be my maid of honor, got to suit up for the varsity game. Following the game, Jered snap chatted me and gave me his phone number. We talked for over a month before he "asked" me to be his girlfriend. A friend of mine (my maid of honor) asked Jered when we were going to make it official. He said he thought we already were. I told him it wasn't official until he asked. So March 19, 2014 Jered asked me to be his girlfriend on the bus ride home from basketball practice. Real romantic right?? Our story is very typical high school, but somehow we made it. We've been together ever since, and couldn't be happier.

The Proposal

7/10/2020

We went to the Ottman family cabin on Lindbergh Lake for the weekend with my parents and brothers family. Jered's parents came up for a night as well. Everything was normal, we spent the day picking huckleberries, sun tanning on the dock, and going for rides in the boat. Jered told me that we could get pictures taken while we were at the lake by my sister-in-law, as she has a nice camera. What I didn't know was that he already had it all planned with my family. How no one blew the secret is still beyond me. Anyway, we walked around getting pictures taken at different spots. We get to the dock and were taking pictures there with the mountains in the background. Our whole family, was on the deck watching us. I was getting so annoyed because it is hard to be serious and smile for pictures when ten people are staring at you. I told Jered, "They're all staring at us and its weird". Jered picked me up and gave me the biggest hug and whispered, "Well do you know why they're all staring at us?" He then got down on his knee and pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. I instantly started crying and now knew why everyone was watching us. I answered his question with a huge "YES!" and Jered put the ring on my finger. The next thing I knew we were surrounded by our families and giving hugs all around. It was a magical moment at my favorite place in the world. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you!
