Yes. The venue has a strict dress code on shoe wear allowed on board the yacht. Wedges, block heels or flats are required. Stilettos, high heels, and pointy heels are strictly prohibited on the yacht for safety reasons. We also ask that you wear a shade of blue to join us in saying "I do."
Yes! Our venue and caterers are requiring a final guest count one month prior to the wedding date. We will not be able to accept any RSVP's after May 1st.
Feel free to stay anywhere you choose. There are plenty of options throughout Charleston including hotels, Airbnb's, and VRBO's. We do recommend booking as early as possible, as Charleston is a summer vacation destination.
The reception will be catered by Charleston Catering and Events. The following food menu items will be available: shrimp and grits cup, petit lump crab cakes, bourbon meatballs, bourbon salmon, garlic dijon chicken, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, green beans, brussel sprouts, and cafe chippers. There will also be a full open bar.
The wedding will take place regardless of inclement weather. The yacht has two interior levels equipped with A/C and a covered upper deck.
The exact route will be determined day of by the captain. The aim is to make it into the Charleston Harbor, but the final route will be determined by weather and conditions. Please note - you will not be able to leave the yacht from 6:00pm-9:00pm. At 9:00, guests will be able to disembark if desired, but we hope you stay to celebrate with us until 10:00!
We suggest carpooling or ubering to the marina. Due to the yacht being docked at a public marina, parking is limited and costly. Once you have arrived, there will be signs showing you where the Carolina Girl Yacht is docked. Please remember to accommodate for Charleston afternoon traffic when planning the timing of transportation to St John's Yacht Harbor.
To get to the yacht, you will be required to walk along a dock that does not have rails. Because of this, we think it's best to get a babysitter and make this a night out for the parents. We love your kids, and we don't want anything to happen to them! If it is necessary for your child to come, please let either of us know so that we can inform the captain.
