We met in 2016 in the dorms (Eagle dorm) at UW - La Crosse. During our freshman year, Kaylee was good friends and dorm neighbors Freshman year with Tanner Langen (groomsman). Sophomore year, Hunter became a roommate of Tanner and they lived across the dorm hallway from Kaylee and Carolyn, Ellen, & Niya (bridesmaids). We did not begin dating until Junior year (2017) when we were the only ones left of our friend group living in La Crosse for the summer. Finally, 6 months later (due to a very nervous boy), we began dating.

Hunter took Kaylee on a seemingly normal weekend trip to the apple orchard. SURPRISE! As they began to walk down the aisle to pick apples at the orchard, out pops Carolyn's red hair (bridesmaid) and Niya (bridesmaid) from behind some apple trees. Hunter executed a perfectly planned proposal at Ecker's apple orchard, with dinner and a hotel stay that night in downtown La Crosse to celebrate.
