We both went to Crisp Academy. I noticed Griffin one day during gym and thought he was cute. We both played basketball so one night after our games we were heading home and he was riding the bus and I was riding home with my parents. I knew I had to talk to him so I said “Good luck riding with Mr. Farmer (our old bus driver).” After that we started talking and several months later he asked me to be his girlfriend on the way home from a basketball game.

This past November was our 7 year anniversary. Me and Griffin both decided we didn’t need anything so we didn’t get gifts for each other (so I thought) but we would go out somewhere nice to eat. Griffin kept telling me he was getting me something because it was our anniversary so I just told him to get me flowers and send them to my work. Well…. I was looking forward to those flowers and I never got them. Earlier in the week, He told me we were going to Jacks Chophouse in Valdosta for supper. So when I got off, I called him to let him know I never got my flowers and I was running home to change before I headed to his house so we could leave to go eat. When I got to his house, he told me we needed to go check on a baby cow that had just been born earlier that day. I didn’t think anything of it because this was normal for us. When we got to the farm he started driving the opposite direction of the cows and I was like that’s weird why are you going the opposite direction of the cows. When he topped the hill on the farm there was a blanket for us to have a picnic (I have always asked to have a picnic with the cows). Of course, I still didn’t catch on and was totally oblivious. So we got all of the stuff out of the truck and set up our picnic. I had sat down on the blanket and he asked me to get up so we could straighten it out (still oblivious). When we straightened the blanket out he bent down and got the ring box out of the picnic basket and got down on one knee. Of course, I said YES!
