Drake and Kaylee both grew up in Muscatine, Iowa, sharing the same small-town roots and even family connections. His father even performed surgery on Kaylee and her brother, yet their paths never crossed. It wasn’t until 2018, when Kaylee traveled from Arizona to Iowa City for the Hawkeye vs. Iowa State game, that they met for the first time. From their very first conversation, there was an undeniable sense of familiarity, as if they had known each other far longer than they actually had. Though they met in Iowa, their friendship didn’t truly deepen until Drake later moved to Arizona, where Kaylee was living. Being in the same place allowed their connection to grow naturally, evolving from friendship into something much deeper. When Drake was offered a job in Nashville, the challenge of distance made them confront what they both already knew. They wanted to be together. That day, they made the choice to build a life side by side, ready to face whatever the future holds.
