Cabo San Lucas, or 'Cabo', is one of Mexico's top tourist destinations. As such, there is a strong police presence. After all, tourism is their economy! Of course, when traveling anywhere domestically or abroad, you should keep your wits about you and use common sense.
Our travel agent (Vagablonde) is offering transportation services to and from the airport. While we recommend booking with them, you are welcome to shop around. In our opinion, it is a very competitive price. Ubers are not allowed to pick you up from the airport, but you can walk off the airport premise and order from there. It is a workaround that we used when we visited, but we would probably not do it again. Ubering to the airport is completely fine!
Yes! Food & drink are included. Pace yourselves!
From The Knot: "Beach cocktail attire is semi-formal beach wedding attire. Typically, men's ties are optional, but still welcome. If you're shopping for menswear, start with a classic long-sleeve button-down and dressy pants; then, add a colorful blazer or patterned sport coat for festivity. Appropriate footwear includes nice loafers and on-theme boat shoes. Women can wear a semi-formal dress, like a maxi or midi, as well as a jumpsuit or dressy separates. A beach cocktail dress code gives you the flexibility to choose a vibrant color or bold print. Finish your outfit with a low heel, wedge or dressy flats. Beachy accessories, like a raffia clutch, are also acceptable." *Please refer to our Vision Board Above.*
Dressy casual.
Ubers are convenient and affordable, use them as you would anywhere in the US. We recommend (at least once) walking into town! from the resort, it is a short 6 minute (0.25 mile) walk to the marina, a focal point of Cabo. From there, you can continue another 0.75 miles along the marina boardwalk and end up on the main drag - Blvd. Paseo de la Marina. Don't forget to pick up a cold cerveza from Oxxo to make the walk even more enjoyable!
If paying with cash (USD or pesos), you will always get the best value paying with pesos. Vendors will take USD, but the exchange rate may not be as favorable. To obtain pesos, use one of the many bank ATM's around town. Please note - when it asks if you accept the exchange rate, choose “Decline.” Doing so will cause the ATM to use your financial institution's rate, which is usually MUCH better. The easiest method is to use a credit card that has no foreign transaction fees. Most vendors accept credit cards, with Visa & MasterCard being the most widely accepted networks. This will also give you the best exchange rate. Don't forget to notify your bank that you're abroad to avoid any payment issues.
Taqueria El Gran Pastor - no questions asked.
Jon's personal favorite - Oxxo (convenience store). You can't beat exploring with a $1.50 beer in hand. If you prefer to sit & drink, Happy Ending Cantina is an awesome bar on the lively Blvd. Paseo de la Marina.
