It all started about 10 years ago. One of my very best friends, now also one of my bridesmaids had introduced me to Michael at a local bar we use to go to. My first thought of him was he was super handsome and extremely funny! Time and time again we would always cross paths with each other whether at the local bar or just around all of our mutual friends. Overtime we developed a sweet friendship and eventually after many years of on and off relationships for the both of us, timing was just right! Fast forwarding to 2012, Michael had asked if I wanted to go for a motorcycle ride and of course I was always up for a fun and thrilling adventure. After that, we ended up going on multiple dates, spent every waking moment together and well the rest is history.
It was Sunday, April 22, 2018. It was a brisk but beautiful spring day. The sun was shinning and the breeze was refreshing. Michael had gotten off work that very morning( he works overnights). I woke up to him cleaning off his father's 1977 Corvette which was passed on to him. I didn't think anything of it because one of Michael's passions is cars! He had asked me what I wanted to do that day, as it was our "Sunday Funday!" together. He suggested to go hiking up Mohonk Mountain which I found to be really odd because we never go hiking(he was looking for the perfect place to propose). I asked him if he wanted to try a winery and go wine tasting together. I mentioned going to Benmaryl Winery in Milton NY, I had been there before so I knew they had great food a beautiful view and a place to hangout outside. We took the corvette for a nice drive to Benmaryl Winery and did a wine tasting. The wine was amazing. We bought a few bottles of wine and souvenir glasses and decided to go outside and enjoy the view. Michael brought me underneath this beautiful, drift wood pergola that people get married under overlooking the entire Hudson Valley and just stood with me for a second to take in the view. Standing behind me, Michael reached around me and handed me a note and asked me to read it. I started to read this heart felt love note and instantly started to tear up. At the end of the note it asked me to turn around and there he was, my best friend, on one knee looking at me with the most perfect ring I could have ever imagined, He asked me to marry him and sobbingly I said "YES!" It was the perfect day, with the perfect man and I am forever blessed! It's a day we will never forget!
