We come here to watch the sunset. It is a majestic place to enjoy the splendor of the desert with a loved one(s). This location inspired our wedding venue.
We came here countless times in college because Kayla *really* wanted to see the cougar, spoiler alert, she still hasn't haha. This museum is a fun adventure each time - we recommend spending time in the hummingbird aviary! It is almost entirely outdoors, so please plan accordingly.
Our first, official date took place here. It was a very sweet, completely overplanned date :). We went to the museum and the steakhouse where Mike made sure we were wearing ties!
We can't get enough of Reid Park! Between the expansive area to walk, the zoo, the rose garden, and the pond this place is refreshing, engaging, and delightful. For Valentine's day one year we went to this zoo. The zoo had arranged for each animal to get a gift - we'll always remember watching animals tear into treats wrapped in paper covered in hearts. It was the most unexpectedly romantic way to celebrate. This is the Park where we and Hector threw the one and done Annual Pie Day Festival on Super Pie Day (3/14/15).
We had our first, unofficial date in this park. It isn't anything special, except to us. We spent many summer nights here: swinging on the swings, dancing in the grass, looking at the rings on Saturn, and storm watching.
We have driven up to Mt Lemmon countless times to escape the heat, gain perspective, hike, picnic, camp, and stargaze. It is fascinating how much the surrounding ecology transforms as you ascend!
Being the ice cream enthusiasts we are we have often eaten at this Dairy Queen off of 4th Ave and people watched, talked, and resolved conflicts. This whole street is full of Tucson-centric businesses including eateries, shops, and bars. It is a very walk-able area.
Being as we met when Kayla was attending UofA we naturally spent time together here. Some recommended activities are visiting the Flandrau space museum, walking around the historic campus, taking a mirror lab tour (Mon- Fri needs to be scheduled in advance), and University Blvd - another street with shops, restaurants, and bars. (Kayla recommends Scented Tea Leaf from which she drank countless cups of tea to fuel her studies.)
