If you want the simple version, we met on a tennis court on a Monday night in San Francisco, and we’ve been together ever since. But if you’re still reading, and want the details, our story went a little more like this: Kayla went to play tennis and met Matt. Matt asked for Kayla’s number to “play pickleball sometime” which really turned out to be an excuse for their first date. From there, they discovered that they had many shared interests beyond tennis and pickle: food, music, hiking in the redwoods, traveling - and above all spending time with friends and family. And friends and family knew it was serious when Kayla willingly attended a Sunday dinner at the Eberts where they were serving cioppino (seafood stew), and when Matt voluntarily took more than a few shots of Fireball at the Hoot. Fast forward three years, and they’ve built a life together with an amazing apartment (close to Kayla’s sister and Matt’s brother), trips around the world to places like Nepal, South America, and Europe, and highlighted by Kayla’s passion for hosting parties accompanied by Matt’s elaborate home cooking. But it was this past summer, during a road trip through Montana, when Kayla not only entertained Matt’s love of fishing, but joined in the action and landed several large trout. That's when Matt knew it was time to try to make his biggest catch. So on a July evening at their favorite picnic spot in the city, Matt caught Kayla by surprise by getting down on one knee and proposing. And there you have it! Now, we’ve found our dream wedding venue to tie the knot, in beautiful Calistoga, surrounded by the people we love. We feel so lucky to have found one another, and are so excited to celebrate with you!
