My New Years Eve Kiss. To ring in 2019 their mutual friend Dale Smith threw a NYE party at his house in Potrero Hill. Out on balcony while fireworks were going off, Jeff came up to Kaylah and offered her his jacket in the cold winter weather. She took his jacket and was charmed by his chivalrous gesture. As the evening went on they had great conversations about life and politics and laughed over champagne toasts. Toward the end of the night Kaylah went back inside to return Jeff's jacket. Right then and there he knew he wanted to ask her out. He took his chance, and he asked for Kaylah’s number so that he could take her out on a date. Kaylah was already completely smitten and when she looked up at him and their eyes meet she immediately leaned in for a New Year's kiss. Sparks flew! Afterwards Jeff looked at Kaylah's smiling face and replied, "So can I still have your number?”

My rock, My Ocean. After weeks of quarantining inside Jeff suggested that they go for a hike to Pirates Cove at Muir Beach, one of their favorite hiking trails to take together. When they arrived the tide was already a pretty high. So after a bit of convincing, he talked her into climbing to the top of the big rock overlooking the cove to eat lunch together. Always accepting a challenge Kaylah agreed and cautiously climbed to the top with the help of Jeff offering his hand as she climbed. When he got to the top Jeff got down on one knee, pulled the ring box out of his pocket, and asked Kaylah for her hand in marriage. Through happy tears she said yes! Jeff was so excited and nervous he put the ring back in his pocket and leapt up to kiss her. As they pulled away both smiling from ear to ear, Kaylah asked “So can I wear my engagement ring?”
