If you were to pick just one activity to do, this would be the one. There is something here for everyone: a variety of shops, plenty of coffee, excellent restaurants, beautiful scenery, and plenty to see. To top it all off, finish your adventure with some Ben and Jerry's ice cream!
Burlington's Waterfront Park is a lovely place to take a stroll! On this flat, paved boardwalk near the shore of the lake, you'll have plenty of places to sit -- or swing -- if you would like to soak up some sun and take in some spectacular views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack mountains. It's a great spot for people-watching, maple creemee snacking, and petting lots of cute dogs! Plus, the sun sets right over the Adirondacks making this spot prime for catching incredible sunsets.
If you're looking for more of an adventure, you can visit the spot where Dylan proposed to Kayla! The hike to the top of Mount Philo takes less than an hour and the view is certainly worth it. If you're short on time or aren't up for a hike, the peak is accessible by car. Also, there are plenty of chairs and picnic tables at the top if you would like to bring a lunch!
Super tasty Vermont wine! What more do I need to say?
Hands down our favorite coffee place! Located just outside the heart of Burlington, we try our very best to make it to Speeder and Earl's at least once each time we visit. We recommend trying a maple latte, but with so many fun flavors you really can't go wrong!
Athens offers a classic diner experience with incredible breakfast and lunch options. Sitting on top of a hill, you can enjoy a wonderful view of Mount Mansfield while demolishing a Santorini sandwich (Kayla's recommendation). The service is reliably quick, and we've never had a bad meal from Athens! If you're in the Burlington area and craving a classic Greek diner meal, Henry's Diner just off Church Street is almost a carbon copy of Athens. The menu for both restaurants can be found on the website below when you scroll to the bottom!
This place has the best ginger chicken stirfry that Kayla has ever had. The food is consistently amazing, and one of our go-to restaurants when we're in town. Pro tip: this is a very popular place sometimes, and the wait time for food can vary significantly. Don't wait until you're starving to order food thinking it'll be ready in 20 minutes because it might take much longer. Ask Dylan and Kayla about getting Tiny Thai for Kayla's birthday...
This one is NOT in the Burlington area! It's in Brattleboro, VT. The Vermont Country Deli offers an array of super tasty sandwiches, prepared dishes, and other snacks for the road. There's also coffee, maple syrup, special beverages, and a restroom. It was a great pit stop on our way to and from college, so we hope you swing by, too! If you're coming up I-91, the Deli is just off exit two when you enter Vermont.
