We're getting married!

A romantic proposal transpired in a horse drawn carriage when Thomas Goulet asked Kayla Parkey for her hand in marriage. It was just before their 7th year anniversary, when Kayla surprised Thomas with a weekend getaway in Leavenworth Washington. Thomas took it as an opportunity to finally propose to Kayla. Knowing how important it was to Kayla, Thomas sought to ask Jeff for his blessing. With their trip scheduled the next morning, Thomas called Cindy and explained the plan. Enthusiastically, Cindy awakened Jeff and Thomas received his blessing. Throughout the years Thomas and Kayla referenced new experiences as a "milestone" in their relationship. As the relationship progressed, the milestone moments gradually subsided. After 7 years, they shared many experiences together but they both knew that they had a major milestone ahead of them. Upon their arrival Leavenworth, Thomas and Kayla spent the evening enjoying the sights, foods, and shopping. Thomas didn't have a specific plan for the proposal but he noticed that people were taking carriage rides throughout the town. He knew that he would incorporate the carriage ride into the proposal. It had been a long time since Thomas or Kayla referred to anything as milestone in their relationship. They found themselves in a small shop offering customized picture frames and Thomas quickly reinforced the milestone tradition. He asked the shop keeper to inscribe the words “Milestone made in Leavenworth Washington” Kayla knew it was odd, but Thomas reassured her that the reference was made regarding their first trip to Leavenworth together. Little did Kayla know; the real milestone was capturing the moment of asking her to marry him. The night was growing late and very cold as they waited for their turn on the carriage. Thomas and Kayla warmed up while sharing a blanket as they began their excursion. They were at peace, and fully devoted to each other’s company. Grasping the ring Thomas had carried all day and night, he nervously waited for an opportunity to propose. The very informative guide stopped talking long enough for Thomas to capture the moment. Suddenly, Thomas turned towards Kayla and revealed the ring while asking for her hand in marriage. She quickly said yes with excitement and followed her response with "wait, did you ask my dad?" After this long in their relationship, Thomas knew better than to leave out such a crucial detail. He reassured her that Jeff gave his blessing even though he was half asleep. They had a great laugh about it and continued their romantic getaway as a newly engaged couple.
