Kayla knew it was coming, but the story is still sweet. Sterling took Kayla on a road trip in North Carolina to Boone to The Great Foscoe Mining Company. Sterling bought a bucket of dirt and they began sifting through the contents looking for gemstones. Much like the day, 10 years earlier where Sterling found an aquamarine stone at the same location. He told his Mom, someday he would make a wedding ring for his wife out of that stone. After the last scoop of dirt, Sterling told Kayla he found the best gem of all and begun the tale of her engagement ring. He told her of his mining adventure as a young teen, and how the diamonds around the ring came from his Grandma's ring and the gold was from his parent's rings, making this engagement ring a treasured family heirloom. He said, I would be honored if you wore this ring for the rest of your life. Kayla said, OK!
