We met working at Express. After a year of working together Kayla left the company for another job. From there we didn't talk much until September 2017 when we both found out we booked trips to Disney for the same exact week! (crazy how fate works huh?). Thats when everything changed! We hung out twice in Disney and quickly picked up our friendship right after. Kayla soon after returned to Express right before holiday of that year. Rick liked her first and it took her a while to catch on. Rick was constantly doing little things like bringing her 'Be Our Guest' coffee to work on days she had early mornings, offering to grab her food and playing her favorite 90s music in the stockroom. Kayla returned the favor one night by cleaning off his car after a snow storm when she left work (while he was at the movies with his friend)! He knew he couldn't wait any longer to say something so he invited her out and let her know how he felt. The two made it official on 01/01/2018!!

Rick proposed in Belles Rose Garden at Be Our Guest in Disney on October 8,2019. Beauty and the Beast is Kayla's favorite Disney movie so he knew the perfect place to do it was in Beasts Castle. During desert (which Kayla was patiently waiting for what seemed like forever) the wait staff brought over the gray stuff, a bed of ivory roses and a glass slipper that had a ring. Before she knew it Rick was down on one knee asking her to marry him! She was even more surprised to turn around and see both of our families there who flew down to witness it in person! Disney will forever be a special place - it is where we restarted our friendship and 2 years later where we decided on forever!
