August 2017, while apartment shopping with my friend Lamont, he saw a sign that read Ashley Lake Apartments now leasing. When we walked in, I saw HER (Kayla). She looked so FINE!! Long straight hair, big beautiful smile, and nice shape I might add. She wasn't available, but I knew I wanted her... to help us that is. She didn't know it, but I was sold before the tour even began. At all my attempts at flirting, her responses were always short and sweet. She finally agreed to a church date, only to call to cancel a few hours before service. Was she interested? A few weeks later, suited nicely and driving my Mercedes at the time, while exiting the parking lot, I received a text saying "Good morning, I think I saw you". Oh she definitely saw me. lol. Our first date was to a FAU vs. Marshall college football game. To know KAYLA is to love her. She is genuine, loving, caring, funny, beautiful, and a strong black woman. She is God-fearing and truly a Proverbs 31 woman. I sensed all those qualities on our first date. I was very intrigued. We made it official on New Year's Eve 2017. "A man who finds a wife finds a good thing" After about 2 years of dating I was ready to pop the big question! Thanksgiving would be the perfect opportunity to ask Kayla to be my forever. On Nov. 27th, 2019 at a Penthouse in NYC overlooking the beautiful skyline surrounded by love ones, with the help of Mara Novembre of Mara Novembre Wedding & Events and Tobi B & Shaquille Brown with the live music, Kayla walked into the room thinking it's "friends-giving", only to find me on one knee, asking her to marry me. The celebration continued with our closest friends and family waiting to celebrate our engagement at The Rooftop in Jersey City. The weekend ended where it all began, a football game in West Virginia to watch her cousin's last Marshall football game. It was such a memorable weekend! To this day, I thank my friend Lamont and my Benz for helping me find my future wife!
