They first met at a youth group called 24seven at High Pointe Church in Thompson, CT. They started off as just friends starting when Kayla joined the church in 2006. Their love story began as a secret for a little while because they were not allowed to date, although I am sure everyone knew. December 29, 2010 is when things became official and they knew they had to be in each others lives. Almost ten years later, and they get to finally say I do.
On Saturday August 11, 2018 the day started with Kayla coming home from a family vacation. Nick had convinced Kayla to go on a date even though she was stubborn and just wanted to be home and relax. Kayla's family was aware of Nick's plan so they helped to convince Kayla to get ready. They went out to eat at Chilis and then went to their friend Cal's house for a game night like they always did on Saturday nights surrounded by their friends. They began to play a game called "Imaginiff". Nick had used the game for his proposal, during the last turn he said, "Imagine if Kayla said yes to marrying me?" and got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. Kayla was in shock and said no and thought Nick was lying. Of course Kayla said yes and enjoyed the rest of the night drinking champagne and calling friends and family to tell them about the news.
