Our story began in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2019. At the time, Kayla was pursuing her Doctorate in Arts Administration at Louisiana State University, while Mia was teaching at Gardere Christian School and completing her Occupational Therapy Degree at St. Catherine’s University. Both of us, in our own ways, were searching for connection in a new city—and as luck would have it, we found each other on Bumble. Our first connection was brief — Kayla deleted the app in a moment of panic — but a few weeks later, Mia swiped right again and this time, it clicked. Since then, our relationship has carried us across the country — Baton Rouge to Des Moines, then Los Angeles, and finally to Saint Paul — each chapter strengthening the bond we share. Now, six years later, we joyfully begin the next part of our story: choosing one another, forever.
