March is a great time to visit Cancun because of it's warm weather, sunny days, and low rainfall. The average temperatures range from 21-30° C. Bring plenty of sunscreen and even a portable personal fan!
Get dressed up and let's have some fun! The dress code is semi-formal/beach cocktail attire. We are getting married off the beach at an area with a wooden floor so no worries about getting sand stuck in your toes! What is beach cocktail attire? The below article lays it out very well. https://www.brides.com/beach-wedding-attire-4842339
The wedding ceremony and reception are taking place at The Gazebo which overlooks the ocean. It will probably take about 15 minutes to walk there from your room, or there are golf carts available. There will not be a formal cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception but we encourage guests to grab a drink at any nearby resort bar while we take photos. There will also be ample time to return to your room to freshen up before we get our dance on! Check out this link to view a map of the resort: https://www.resortsmaps.com/map-TheFives-RivieraMaya.html The Gazebo is located at 'N' (Love Garden).
Some of the A la Carte restaurants have slightly more formal dress codes. They do not always enforce these requirements but some may not permit baseball caps, swim wear, or flip flops while dining.
It's possible to purchase day passes for The Fives at reception. Day passes allows visitors to access the resort from 9am-5pm for $95 USD. Night passes are available from 5pm-1am. If you are staying off resort kindly let us know as we are required to purchase a wedding pass.
ECO- Tax: In Mexican resort areas like Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Riviera Maya, a municipal environmental sanitation tax is charged to hotel and resort guests, typically around 30-70 Mexican pesos per room, per night, and is added to your bill at check-in or check-out - approximately $14-42 Canadian dollars. Visitor's Tax: For visits to Quintana Roo, including popular destinations like Cancun, Tulum, and Playa del Carmen, foreign visitors over 15 years old must pay a mandatory tourist tax, known as VISITAX, which is approximately $24 CAD. Please see the email from our Travel Agent on how to pay this tax before you leave Mexico or visit https://www.visitax.app
