In the summer of 2007, Rockbridge Congregation in Stone Mountain had their summer congregation picnic. At the time, Kayla was attending Hidden Hills Congregation and thankfully had family in Rockbridge. Kayla had no problem crashing the party where Marcellus would be. Although they had not yet met, little did they know how inseparable they would be from that point on. From best friends to soulmates and through ups and downs, forever and always is finally happening.

This day couldn’t have went more perfectly. Marcellus really wanted to surprise Kayla, however Kayla’s instincts were on point that day. She claims she felt it but we’ll leave that up for interpretation. Marcellus arrived early to Kayla’s home to what was supposed to be a “family cookout”. Her father gathered the family together for prayer before we all dug into the delicious food prepared and gave beautiful sentiments on his gratitude for family. He opened the floor for anyone else that may have wanted to add any other thoughts and this was Marcellus’ window! As he reached under the couch where the ring was hidden, he prepared himself to ask Kayla to be his forever. She said YES! As they embraced beautiful memories were captured that they can always hold onto. And the rest is history!
