How We Met

8.19.17

Initially meeting through mutual friends, neither of us remembered the other lol. A year later we were both in Columbus, OH for a friend's birthday celebration. Leanne thought Kayla was cute and got her number. We kept texting after the weekend and eventually went on a date and the rest is history.

The Epic Dual Proposal

3.19.21

October 6th and October 12th...6 days apart & at the same store, Leanne & Kayla secretly bought each other engagement rings. We both chose to enlist Jena Green as our co-conspirator to help us plan (we owe you one J. Green!). It was Leanne's 30th birthday in March so both of us apparently considered it the perfect time to pop the question. Fast forward to March 19th 2021, we got a hotel downtown Cleveland, went to a nice dinner, and Kayla arranged for a driver to take us sightseeing around the city. Meanwhile, our friends were hard at work back at our hotel setting up for both of our proposals. Arriving at the hotel, Kayla ushered Leanne into the room first, but to Kayla's surprise there were flowers and an inscribed glass block with a QR code of a romantic voice recording from Leanne. Super confused, Kayla tried to rush Leanne into the bedroom portion of the suite to get to her part of the proposal. Confused about why Kayla was in a rush, Leanne walked into the bedroom to see 30 roses (one of which contained an engagement ring) and balloons spread across the window overlooking the city that read "Leanne will you marry me?!?". Fully expecting the balloons to read "Happy 30th Birthday" Leanne attempted to process what was happening as she turned to face Kayla who was on one knee. Leanne said yes and then mentally prepared to ask Kayla the same thing! In another portion of the room, a bottle of champagne was chilling. Leanne had a special label made with a poem ending in "Will you be my wife?" Kayla, still amped up, didn't even notice the poem lol. Leanne grabbed her ring anyway and got on one knee to pop the question all over again. Kayla said yes too! We then called our families, got a drink with the "setup crew", and danced the rest of the night away.
