The summer of 2019 we met as counselors at Camp War Eagle, a kid's camp in Rogers, Arkansas. Kenny went up to Kayla and asked her to swing dance with him at swing dancing night their first week. Later that week, Kayla made it clear to Kenny that she had NO intentions of being more than pals with him. However, through hanging out with mutual friends, she changed her mind. After Kenny left camp, Kayla stayed a few more weeks until she made it back to Stillwater where they both attended college at OSU. Once she made it back, Kenny did not give up on love and asked her for a night of sushi, and she accepted. A few more casual date nights later, Kenny asked Kayla to be his lady friend. The rest is history.

Kenny had an elaborate scheme to pop the big question to Kayla. His main goal was to: 1. Have Kayla say "YES" 2. Have her not expect a proposal Kenny called all of Kayla's loved ones and best friends and told them the plan. Two of Kayla's out-of-state friends came to OKC for the weekend to just "hangout", and a third friend texted Kayla to meet her at the Myriad Gardens in downtown OKC for an "art festival". Little did she know Kenny would be there with flowers, music, champagne, and a ring. After the successful proposal, they headed to dinner where she thought only the friends present would be at said dinner. Little did she know both of their friends and family would all be there to celebrate the newly-engaged couple. Kenny's goals were both accomplished as Kayla was surprised, happy, and said "YES". May 28th, 2022 truly lives rent-free in their heads.
