Third Time's the Charm!

Kayla was working at Fitness CF, a local gym that Julian and his dad went to. Julian began to notice Kayla but he didn’t pay her much mind at first, until he noticed her smile and positive energy around her co-workers, plus her curls? C’mon now. October 2018 One day Julian came into the gym with his dad and Kayla wasted no time: “Ooh look who finally came to the gym! Your dad tells me you’ve just been home in your room!” “Yeah in my room working!” Julian said. “Sure, sounds like you’re being a bum!” Let the flirting begin ;) At least, that’s what Julian thought. Some time went by since Julian and his dad had gone to the gym, that day Kayla says: “Hi Dad!” Julian thought to himself, ‘Her dad must be behind me walking in at the same time’. Right? Wrong. She was talking to Julian’s dad. Now Julian is shook. This HAD to be a sign. No girl calls your dad, “Dad” without it meaning something, he thought. The trash talking continued, calling the other a bum because they weren’t consistent in the gym or the other was not working as many hours. Eventually Dad said: “You know, you should be nicer to Kayla, you’re way too mean.” Julian: “But Dad, do you ever hear what she says to me?!” Dad: “That doesn’t matter, it’s because of how you act with her, but if you’re nicer she will be too.” Julian hated dad’s simple but smart logic. Julian decided that next time he went into the gym, he wouldn't trash talk, instead he’d ask how she was doing. It turned out to be the first genuine conversation they had. Julian didn’t want to seem too forward so he waited after a few conversations before asking her out on a date. November 2018 Julian: “So when will you let me buy you a drink?” Kayla: “A drink? Never.” His jaw dropped, along with his heart. But he had to save himself: “Not even for coffee?” “No” “Not even water?” She laughed and said, “No”. He saw this as a challenge and the challenge was accepted. December 2018 Now it’s New Year’s Eve, Julian’s parents are having their annual NYE Party. Julian went for a workout and afterwards took his second shot and invited her to his party. She never said yes but she also never says no about going. Julian takes a pen and paper, writes the information she needs including his phone number and gives it to her. He thought it was the perfect plan, but Kayla never shows up, nor does she text Julian. He thought she just had a boyfriend or was stringing him along for a ride but little did he know Kayla had committed herself to her personal development journey and left no room for entertaining any guys. Julian quit making moves on Kayla and went back to focusing on his own personal development once Kayla rejected him for the second time. March 2019 3 months passed without Julian or Kayla seeing much of each other but one day he stepped into the gym and decided to walk past Kayla to begin his gym sesh. In the middle of the workout Kayla noticed him and thought to herself, "OH NO HE DIDN'T JUST WALK BY WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING!" Kayla waves at Julian once they locked eye contact, but Julian didn’t want to interact much so he threw up the peace sign to say hi, lol. Kayla walks over to him to catch up and it was the first time they spoke about their goals and impact they want to make. Julian was so impressed, but tried his best not to show much emotion. Julian went to continue his workout and by the end he knew there was enough to at least say bye to her on his way out. He walked up to her while she was speaking to someone, leaned in and grabbed her close to kiss her on the cheek then whispered softly, “Take Care”. 10 minutes later, Julian receives his first text saying “Hi, save my number :)” The rest is history!
