In the summer of 2013, we met down the shore in Manasquan, NJ. We had our first date that Fall at The Brick Oven in Westfield, NJ, and the rest was history! Contrary to MTV's belief, we think that the Jersey Shore is the best place to fall in love!

October 6th, 2018 started as any other crisp-Fall Saturday morning would for me... at the dance studio. I spent my morning teaching and told each student about the fun plans Joey and I had later that night, unknowing that this night would change my life forever. It is tradition for us to plan a weekend getaway each Fall which are nothing short of surprises from Joey, so when he mentioned "staycation in New York City for the night" with no other details, it wasn't out of the ordinary. I remember this day like it was yesterday... I left the dance studio eager to get into the City. I was 'bursting' with excitement and literally popped my tire on the drive home. Despite the minor flat tire set back, we were destined to have a great night. Joey kept the hotel a secret until the drive in and gave me one clue, "Home Alone". My eyes lit up. We were staying at The Plaza! Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find out we were upgraded to a new room on the 14th floor, Room 1429 to be exact. My birthday is on the 14th and his is on the 29th. Unknowing what was in store for the night, I laughed off this unplanned coincidence but to Joey, it was a sign of fate and a message that 'this is where you're supposed to be'. We had a great afternoon at The Plaza and were now leaving for a surprise dinner. I, of course, wanted to get a picture on the iconic stairs in the front of The Plaza. As we posed for this picture, Joey got down on one knee. It was the best question he ever asked me! A (purple) horse and carriage was waiting for us out front. We rode throughout Central Park, called our loved ones, and reflected on this perfect moment. We arrived at Tavern on the Green and spent a beautiful night filled with our favorite things; dinner, dancing, and each other. Back at The Plaza, Joey coordinated another surprise of rose petals filling the room for our return. This night was truly magical and perfect in every way! I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with this man.

October 6th, 2018: The Best Night of My Life. I love replaying it in my head… Kayla and I together, only one’s dancing under the string lights in Central Park as a group sang old Sinatra songs to us. Her smile was beaming as she laughed and cried tears of joy at the same time, asking over and over again, 'Is this real?'. That moment, though easy and effortless at the time, was the culmination of years of persistence on my end. I knew she was the one from the moment I saw her, and continually convinced her of this every chance I got. The stumbles home from the Osprey and First Ave Pizza turned into "real" dinner dates, and those dinner dates turned into us moving in together. Then, I finally got my chance to ask her the question I had been wanting to since the day I met her! I’ll take my time enjoying every moment of forever with her, but for now, I cannot wait until July 2nd, 2021: The Next Best Night of My Life!
