We both swiped "right" on each other.... Jake and I met on a dating app known as Bumble. We had our first date at Republic soon after we had matched. I asked Jake, "dinner plans?" Our date was a little messy with a spilled water and a bloody nose! Even with a few obstacles, we had the best time together. It was an immediate spark between us. We have spent the last 2 years challenging each other to be our best selves. We both agree that our favorite aspect of our relationship is our laughter we share with one another. Fast forward to a little over 2 years and Jake showed up on Christmas Eve to ask me to marry him!

My family was celebrating Christmas in Cancun. Little did I know, that come Christmas Eve, Jake would show up on the beach and give me a surprise of a lifetime. As my family gathered to walk down to the beach to take a family picture, there at the bottom of the stairs was “will you marry me, Kayla?” written out in the sand with seashells and poinsettias. My family was all in on the secret proposal. Out from a cabana appeared Jake with an important question to ask me. I blubbered out, “why are you here?” He then got down on one knee and told me he didn’t want to spend Christmas without me - he never wants to spend Christmas without me. Trembling and crying my eyes out, I said yes to my favorite person. We are so excited to become the Klingenberg's!
