Why not! We both love to travel and wanted somewhere half way between Australia and Canada. Kiribati wasn't available.
We're planning activities from Friday, October 11. If you'd like to join, please arrive from Australia on Thursday or from LAX on the Wednesday evening flight arriving in Nadi on Friday morning. Arrive earlier or later as your schedule allows.
Whenever you like. There won't be any events after the wedding day. We'll be lazing about the resort on Tuesday, April 15 before taking off on a short honeymoon.
No. The link posted on the travel page will load discounted wedding rates (including taxes) that are considerably less than the Warwick's standard rates. We've seen some even cheaper non-refundable prices using web aggregators. All rates include breakfast.
We'll try to organise a shuttle bus for larger groups arriving Friday or Saturday. If those times don't work out you have several options. The 90 minute taxi ride from Nadi airport will cost approximately FJD 120 (AUD 80 / CAD 75 / USD 55). The Warwick offers transfers for FJD 147 (AUD 95 / CAD 90 / USD 70) for up to four people in a car or FJD 252 (AUD 170 / CAD 160 / USD 120) for larger groups in a van. Airport transfer companies, of which there are many, may be a little cheaper for small groups. There is also free parking should you wish to rent a car.
The Warwick's rates include all taxes and there are no resort fees. There is a 3% surcharge on credit and debit card payments when settling your final bill. The only way to avoid this is to pay cash upon checkout.
Tipping is not expected by porters, valets, and restaurant or bar staff. Round taxi fares up to the nearest dollar.
You may need a small amount for taxis, a nearby bar, to pay the small admission levy to a local tribe during an excursion, or for shopping in your own time. There are Westpac ATMs at the airport and resort which charge a FJD 15 fee. The resorts bars and restaurants are cashless -- everything is added to your final bill.
We are trying to organise a boat trip and casual bucks and hens for the Friday and Saturday before the wedding. Plans will be posted to the website soon.
Absolutely! We're expecting a handful of toddlers and young children. The resort offers free meals to kids under 12 as well as a kids club, beach club and activity center. The Wicked Walu restaurant, Suva pool, and Suva hotel wing are adults only.
Not really. Sandals, t-shirts and shorts are fine everywhere.
The Warwick's Hibiscus Lounge is a sports bar, open till midnight, that should be playing the world cup. We are also a 30 minute drive from Sigatoka, the home of Fiji rugby.
