We met at probably the least romantic place in Tulsa - at T.G.I. Friday's. Kayla came in for a job interview and Hope was standing at the host station, greeting her immediately. For us, the connection was instant; we had no idea why, but we knew we would be important to each other in some way. We flirted for a full year before finally becoming "official" October 16th, 2015. Almost six years later, here we are tying the knot!
Amidst the middle of the COVID pandemic, Hope had been holding onto an engagement ring for several months trying to figure out how to ask Kayla to marry her. She decided that she wanted to propose at one of the most beautiful places in Tulsa - Philbrook Museum. She rented out the Philbrook Gardens for the morning of July 27th, 2020, telling Kayla she was going to work and that they would have a special lunch date that day. Our best friend, Kaitlyn, asked Kayla to go with her to a Doctor's appointment that morning while Hope set up the proposal picnic with pillows, charcuterie, champagne, and a bouquet of flowers. Our incredible photographer, Jordan Taylor, met Hope at the gardens and hid in the bushes to take pictures during the proposal. Rather than going to a doctor's appointment, Kaitlyn drove Kayla unknowingly to the Philbrook gardens, telling her that we were having our lunch early. Hope met her at the gate to the gardens and walked her down the path to the picnic, Kayla still having no idea what was happening. When they arrived at the picnic, Hope got down on one knee and proposed! We spent the rest of the morning enjoying champagne and charcuterie in the crazy summer heat while Jordan took our engagement photos.
