Our third year of college, we met on Tinder. We started hanging out before Thanksgiving break and knew almost instantly that we would be together forever. Fun fact: Garrett came back to college following break with a Ring Pop in hand.
It didn't take long to make the relationship official. The night of Garrett's lacrosse formal, he stopped Kayla on their walk home (in zero degree weather) and asked her to be his girlfriend. It was one of the few things both of them remember from that night.
An extra week of Spring Break turned into months of lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although Kayla had been spending most of her free time at Garrett's off campus house, the pair moved in together officially at the beginning of lockdown to finish out their semesters. Both knew that this would be the ultimate test to their compatibility, but were surprised by how harmoniously they were able to live together.
After college, Garrett joined Kayla in her hometown in Upstate New York. After a year of renting, the pair bought their first house together and adopted their dog, Ollie. Ollie would join their cat, Penelope, to complete the family.
Following a HUGE snowstorm, Garrett brought Kayla to Thompson Park in Watertown, NY. Before he even got down on his knee, Kayla said "Yes!"
