Let’s celebrate!

We met during our 7th grade year in the commons area of Benton Middle School. A mutual friend of ours stole Kayla’s lunchbox to snack on her bag of microwavable bacon. Kayla caught Dillon red-handed with her lunchbox and an empty bag of bacon…. Somehow this led us to becoming best friends!

Though we swore up and and down we were “just friends”, feelings became harder to ignore! After a late night conversation where Dillon told Kayla, “I wish I could find someone like you”, everything clicked for Kayla. Dillon, on the other hand, was still clueless. The night of April 22, 2011, Kayla finally drafted a text message telling Dillon how she felt. She was so nervous to send it that her friend had to press send for her! The next day, Dillon asked Kayla to be his girlfriend.

10 years and some change later, Dillon pulled off a huge surprise and proposed on a family beach trip in Perdido Key, FL!

A couple of weeks into year 11, we will make forever official with an elopement ceremony in Big Sur, California! No worries, we will have plenty of pictures and video footage to share.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without our friends and family. We look forward to celebrating with our people and reliving that special day with you all! Location: Benton, LA
