Maid of Honor
MShaw and I met freshman year of high school when we roomed together on a swim team trip. Somewhere in the midst of 4 years of swimming we became absolutely inseparable. Despite 7 years living in different states, every time we see each other it's like we never left. Our favorite thing to do is drive to Orlando and spend days visiting our favorite princess, Belle, at Disney from opening until we get kicked out after fireworks. In the last 7 years she has also become one of the biggest Clemson Tigers fans I know, and turned her whole family into Clemson fans too! Maddie is the most loyal and supportive friend a girl could ask for, and I am so thankful to have her by my side on my wedding day.
Best Man
I met Evan during my 2nd year at The Citadel. My first impression of him was that he is one of the funniest people I have ever met - and that is still true to this day. He is constantly making jokes and brings a positive vibe to every situation, which is why I love having him around. He is also one of the most motivated people I know. During our last couple of years in college, our 5 AM workouts strengthened our friendship more than anything else. To this day, we still hold each other accountable and encourage one another to be the best version of ourselves. Anyone that has the chance to meet him will realize that he is a great leader, friend, motivator, and comedian that you want to have around at all times!
Maid of Honor
Lauren and I grew up about 30 minutes from each other in Jacksonville, FL, but we didn't meet until I joined Alpha Chi Omega at Clemson University. We instantly bonded over our love for Disney which led to a perfect Big-Little reveal theme - Peter Pan!! She introduced me to the Disney College Program, and both of us ended up working at Walt Disney World at the same time. Lauren is truly the big sister I never had growing up and has been there for me through so many big life events - starting college, becoming president of our sorority, the DCP, graduation, and getting accepted to medical school - it's only fitting she's by my side for my wedding day too!
Best Man
Oh Fernando. This man is legit the most generous person I know. He is constantly encouraging and thinking about the needs of other people. He will make an amazing doctor because he truly has a servant heart. The Navy and medicine are blessed to have him in their community. I met Fernando at The Citadel when we were on the same research project. Fast forward two years, and we ended up living together as we started med school in Greenville. I am confident in saying that if it weren't for Fernando and his fun, outgoing personality, I would not be in this relationship with Kayla. He is my workout buddy and has been since we started school, and this has kept both of us sane. Fernando is a loving, humble, kind, amazing person who I love having in my corner! Oh yeah he is also my Godfather :/
Bridesmaid
Snickles and I met through Alpha Chi Omega at Clemson University, freshman year when we became sorority twins! She brought lots of joy to our AXO family, and some incredible Big/Little themes - especially the year she was donkey from Shrek. We spent 2 years as roommates together in Clemson making memories on our front porch after nights downtown, convincing each other to practice for our piano classes, feeding the neighborhood cats (all Sarah), and carpooling to sorority chapter meetings. She is one of the sweetest, most genuine, and eco-friendly people I know, and she is an excellent role model for her students. Sarah is my favorite Saturday market shopping and picnic partner, and I am so thankful we have remained close after graduation.
Groomsman
Wiegand (AKA high-speed/airborne/Socrates). There is a reason he has earned these nicknames. This man has an aura about him that just screams motivating. I had the privilege of living with Rob during my junior year at The Citadel. Before I lived with him, I had not realized that someone could be as motivating as Rob. At the end of my long days, I fell asleep to the sound of Rob holding his breath for as long as possible and tying knots above me on the top bunk and gasping for air when he was finished. We started an unspoken competition to see who could wake up earlier to go work out in the mornings. Rob will do amazing things in the Army and for our country. He is a great leader, husband, dog-dad, and friend. I am happy to say that he's one of my best friends.
Bridesmaid
Sarah and I met on trip to Walt Disney World (starting to notice a theme here?) with an organization that is so dear to our hearts - Camp I Am Special. We spent 6 years working together at a summer camp for individuals with disabilities and bonded over late-night front porch chats and buddy snacks. In high school Sarah was essentially a member of the family - she probably spent more time at my house than she did at her own. We spent countless hours "crafting" and singing Disney songs at the top of our lungs. She's the only Florida State seminole I will ever root for, and she has one of the kindest hearts of anyone I know.
Groomsman
If you are wondering what a future governor looks like - you can just look at John! He is an extremely professional person (but he also knows how to have a good time). Our friendship in Charleston was awesome. We got to run the school our senior year (stressful at times but also a great experience) and enjoy Charleston together. One of the things that I remember most about John is his dedication to making sure everything is done the right way. He has so much integrity and discipline and that is something I love about him. I heard that he wants to become a chef and his favorite thing to make is pasta. He's planning to go to NYC to start a new restaurant with modern eats and classic drinks. Just kidding. Get to know him and you will love him too.
Bridesmaid
Regan and I lived 2 doors down from each other freshman year in Holmes Hall at Clemson University - little did we know that we would reconnect as roommates for all four years in medical school at USCSOMG. Regan and I love to vent about our tough and exciting days on clinical rotations. We share a love of Thai restaurant, her pups Terri and Goose, eating sweet potato cake, and discussing potential new COVID hobbies - even if gardening is the only one that actually stuck. She has been there to support me through the tough times, and help me celebrate all of the exciting times over the past 4 years, and I couldn't image doing medical school without her.
Groomsman
Ivan is the man that started my coffee obsession. Before I knew him, I was living on K cups and cheap Joe that I would never drink and would be disgusted by today. He taught me everything I know about coffee - grinders, good beans, brewing. I am honestly surprised that he did not become a barista between college and med school. Ivan and I used to get away from school and go to his apartment in West Ashley. This was a blessing and we were able to get some good sleep on the weekends when we needed it most. Ivan is one of the most forward-thinking people I know. He is always trying to find ways to do things better and make himself better. He definitely has bright things ahead of him.
