David came over on a whim on Halloween night. I had just gotten off work and wanted to take the kids trick or treating. This was the first time that David met the kiddos. Olivia was dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and sammy was the cowardly lion and I was the wicked witch. David shows up, and proceeds to not skip a beat, as if this was just another night with the kids he introduces himself to Olivia and from that moment on, they were best friends.
A few weeks into "officially" dating David, I called up my mom. I believe I said "mom, I'm going to marry David"... and of course my mom, in her motherly way says "ok, well, just don't tell him that. If it's going to happen it will happen"
Now that I look back on this camping trip I should of realized that it was going to be the weekend. David had pulled out all the strings for this (first) family trip. We bought alot of nice new gear and we were all really excited. David, being the not so sly man that he thinks he is, got a package from Amazon delivered a week before our trip... telling me that I wasn't allowed to open it. Well, anyone who knows me well, knows that I just cant help myself.... but.. I'll be truthful. I didnt need to open the box because I had a feeling it was a ring box. Fast forward to the night of the proposal. David and I were sitting by the campfire, the kids were asleep. He goes and refills my wine cup and (not so sly) switches it out for a cup that says "does this ring make me look engaged" and I'm like "what ring?" And then that's when he got down and asked me to marry him!
David and I are really excited to start our new life together in October but we are even more excited to create a family with our kids. David and I will become husband and wife but David will also became a Dad. We are ready to make so many new memories together with each other as well as with you, our friends and family.
