How Do I Book My Hotel Stay?

Do I need a passport or visa?

Answer

Yes — a valid passport book (the blue one!) is required for air travel to the Dominican Republic. Passport cards or other forms of ID will not be accepted, and you will be denied entry. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date, so please double-check the expiration date. If you need to renew or apply for a passport, we recommend starting that process as soon as possible to avoid delays. Also, make sure the name on your plane ticket matches your passport exactly — middle names included!

What should I wear to the wedding?

Dress Code: Tropic Chic Tropic Chic is all about blending vibrant island vibes with elevated wedding style. Think bold prints, bright colors, breathable fabrics, and a hint of glam — perfect for a celebration in paradise! For Women: Flowy dresses or jumpsuits in tropical prints or bright solids are perfect. Opt for breathable fabrics like linen or chiffon. Accessorize with beachy jewelry, a clutch, and finish the look with wedges or dressy sandals. For Men: Linen shirts, tropical or floral prints, and chinos or tailored shorts are all great options. Loafers or clean sandals work well. Jackets are optional and ties are not required — keep it stylish yet relaxed.

Who is invited?

We’re thrilled to celebrate with our closest family and friends! If you received an invitation, it is specifically addressed to those we’re able to include. Due to limited space, we kindly ask that you refer to your invitation for who is invited. Thank you so much for understanding!

Is the resort water safe to drink?

Answer

The resort provides filtered water, so it is safe to drink at all restaurants and bars. In addition, unlimited bottled water will be readily available throughout your stay. However, please note that the Dominican Republic's water filtration system differs from that of the U.S. For your health and safety, we recommend using bottled water for drinking and even for brushing your teeth. We want all our guests to stay healthy and enjoy every moment of the trip!

Are we supposed to tip even though its all inclusive?

Answer

Tipping is not required—but it is greatly appreciated. The staff at Dreams Onyx are truly incredible and work hard to make your stay exceptional. We like to bring small bills ($1s and $5s) to tip for drinks, meals, and outstanding service throughout the resort.

Is there anything specific that we should pack?

Answer

We recommend bringing an insulated tumbler. While the resort does provide cups, they tend to be small and drinks can warm up quickly under the sun. An insulated tumbler will help keep your beverages cold and refreshing all day long!

What can we do at the resort during our vacation after the wedding?

Answer

Dreams Onyx is a family-friendly paradise with something for everyone—whether you're looking to relax, explore, or just have fun in the sun. Lounge on the beautiful beach, float down the lazy river, or splash around in one of the resort’s many pools—including a water park with slides perfect for both kids and kids-at-heart. With an all-inclusive experience, you’ll have access to unlimited food and drinks at your leisure. Enjoy a variety of specialty restaurants, or stop by the buffet, open daily for breakfast and lunch. When the sun goes down, the fun continues with nightly entertainment and live shows. Feeling adventurous? The resort also offers exciting excursions like zip-lining, snorkeling, and catamaran cruises (available at an additional cost).

How Long Will the Bride and Groom Be There?

Christopher and Kayla will be soaking up the sun from March 25th to April 1st! Feel free to come early, stay late, or make a full vacation out of it—we’d love to celebrate with you for as long as you can stay!

What If I Have a Food Allergy?

Answer

Please let us know personally if you have any food allergies or intolerances so we can inform the chef in advance for the wedding dinner. At each restaurant seating, you will be asked about allergies—please be sure to notify the hostess to help prevent any cross-contamination and ensure your safety throughout your stay.
