FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kayla Joyce and Bijan Dehkordi
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We’d love everyone to dress in elevated, coastal-inspired attire. Colors that look beautiful by the ocean include tan, beige, light brown, caramel, chocolate brown, terracotta (clay), rust (burnt orange), and soft greens like sage or olive. Light blues such as dusty or slate blue also look great. Think beach-formal: dresses, jumpsuits, or dress shirts and dress pants with shoes comfortable for sand. Please avoid white/ivory, bright/neon colors, black, and loud patterns 🤍✨ Click here to view our vision at our attire Pinterest board : https://pin.it/3gyMcBgI7

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please text Kayla at 562-275-2775 with any allergies or restrictions so we can make sure everything is taken care of for you.

Question

Should I bring cash?

Answer

We recommend bringing a small amount of cash (USD or Mexican pesos) if you’d like to tip the wonderful bar and service staff throughout the evening. Tipping is completely optional but always appreciated.

Question

What shoes should I wear?

Answer

The venue includes stone paths and beach areas, so we recommend sand-friendly shoes, flats, wedges, or block heels for comfort and stability. You’re also welcome to kick your shoes off and go barefoot, or bring a pair of flip flops for later in the evening.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Late April in Puerto Vallarta is typically warm, sunny, and tropical. Daytime temperatures are usually around 82–88°F (28–31°C), and evenings remain warm, typically 75–80°F (24–27°C). Our celebration will take place outdoors by the ocean, so you can expect warm temperatures, ocean breezes, and some humidity. We recommend light, breathable fabrics and comfortable footwear to stay cool and enjoy the evening.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to be fully present during the ceremony and allow our photographer to capture the moment.

Question

Will we need to go through port security?

Answer

Yes. Before boarding the boat, all guests will pass through Puerto Mágico port security, similar to airport-style screening. Bags may be checked before entering the marina. Small personal items like phones, small purses, sunscreen, and medication are completely fine to bring. Thank you for helping us keep everything running smoothly so we can get to the celebration on time.

Question

Do we need our passports for the boat departure?

Answer

No. Passports are not required to pass through Puerto Mágico port security or board the boat. The screening process is simply to check bags for restricted items. We recommend bringing only small personal items like your phone, wallet, and any essentials for the evening.
