Hotel
For more casual accommodations that let you experience the downtown life, we suggest checking in at Hotel Royal. The prices are comparable to that of the Hotel Current, but the area is more transit rich and walkable, and closer to our recommended dining and entertainment locations. They even offer free bikes that you can use to explore the area! We don’t have a block reserved, but we have a custom code that will earn you a 20% discount for booking. The code was sent out by email/text, but please reach out to us if you haven’t received it.
Travel Note
The best airports to fly in to are: 1. Long Beach Airport (LGB) 2. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) 3. John Wayne Airport (SNA) We recommend renting a car to get around. It takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour to travel between Long Beach and LAX. LGB is only 20 minutes away from Downtown Long Beach. If you aren't planning on renting a car, you can take the LA Metro (Shuttle to Train) to from LAX to Downtown Long Beach. Alternatively, scheduling a rideshare like Lyft or Uber is the most reliable option. Long Beach has a network of city buses that run every 20 minutes. If you are flying into Long Beach Airport (LGB), the 112 Bus Route travels between the airport and Downtown Long Beach. You can either purchase a TAP card at a train station, or download a virtual one on your smartphone. Otherwise, you can pay with cash. The fare is $1.25 for the bus and $1.75 for a single Metro line. Parking anywhere south of the Rte 1 Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Long Beach can be challenging. Metered street parking takes either card or quarters and is charged at 25 cents for every 15 minutes.
