We met through mutual friends in Alex's fraternity! We became best friends our sophomore year of undergrad and immediately became inseparable. We spent every "Caturday" tailgating at the bowl together, as well as going to every UK basketball game that year. I asked him to my sorority formal that year, and here we are over 4 years later! We spent the next few years of undergrad and grad school being best friends, just like we were sophomore year of college! We cannot be happier that we get to be best friends forever!
Alex had just graduated from UK with his Masters in Accounting and was getting ready to move to Louisville in a few weeks. We had a dinner date planned to celebrate his graduation at my favorite restaurant in Louisville, Captains Quarters. Little did I know, we were celebrating much more than a graduation! At dinner Alex was acting very strange and did not finish his dinner (if you know Alex, you know this is very out of character). After dinner we were heading to a "game night" with friends but he said he had a surprise on the way home. We got off of the freeway at an exit that I never get off of, and of course didn't stop questioning him about where we were going (if you know me, you know that is not at all out of character). We pulled up to the Anchorage fire station where there was a gazebo lined with rose petals and lights, and a bottle of champagne with a glass on either side. It also started to storm as soon as we got into the gazebo. I quickly realized what was happening and was so excited. He showed me a very sweet video that his family made and popped the question! Of course I said yes, and then immediately afterward my mom, sister, and best friends Dani and Cara popped out of a tree! It was the best night we could have ever imagined!
