Kayla and Alex both were born & raised in Vero Beach, FL. Despite growing up in the same small town, Kayla and Alex never crossed paths until later in life. After college, Kayla moved to Palm Beach and began her career in finance. Over the next three years, she’d come home to Vero to visit friends and family on the weekends. Little did she know, she’d caught someone's eye along the way. Mother’s Day weekend in 2021, she came home to celebrate with her family at Vero Beach Country Club and Alex just so happened to be there also celebrating with his family. This is the first time Kayla laid her eyes on him. A few weeks after that, she saw him again sitting across the bar from her. At the end of May, Alex messaged Kayla on Instagram asking to take her out on a date. When she went to his profile, she realized it was the man who’d caught her eye a few weeks back. After Alex graduated college, he always knew it was in the cards to move back to Vero and work for the family business. When he wasn’t working, he spent his time doing all things outdoors. In May of 2021, Alex was at a mutual friend’s house, Ryan and Mackenzie, where he mentioned to them that he saw Kayla at Vero Beach Country Club a few times and couldn’t take his eyes off her. On May 31st, 2021 is when he officially messaged her on Instagram and asked her out on a date. From then on, they were inseparable. Kayla and Alex went on their first date June 18th of 2021. He would visit her in Palm Beach on the weekdays, getting to explore all the different restaurants and she would come to Vero on the weekends. Three weeks into their relationship, Alex officially asked her to be his girlfriend. A few weeks after that, Alex took Kayla to Wolf Laurel on a family trip. This is the trip they fell in love, in a place that has always been special to Alex and now, to Kayla.

Alex holds a special place in his heart for Blackwater, his hunting lease. It is a place where he can get away and enjoy the outdoors. Now it is a place that Kayla and Alex enjoy going to together. On May 6th, 2023, Kayla and Alex had a plan to go out to Blackwater, but this time, Kayla had to learn to navigate her way out there with Alex sitting shotgun. They picked up pub subs and planned to ride around on the side by side and have a picnic, something they had done before-but this time was different. After finishing their lunch, and washing his hands off in the creek, Alex came up behind Kayla down on one knee, and asked her to marry him.
