Aaron and Kayla met when a mutual friend enlisted Aaron to help move a very heavy couch. Kayla had completely forgotten that Aaron moved her couch, but he reminded her once they started dating! It would be years before the topic of that heavy couch would be brought back up!
Aaron and Kayla knew each other from mutual friends and Kayla was even his son's preschool teacher. Once Bently had finished Pre-K, Aaron asked Kayla on an official date. We went to the Sharp's Fourth of July party, where Aaron was a perfect gentleman by way of picking Kayla up (even if he was a little early and she panicked because she wasn't completely done getting ready), opening doors, and ensuring her drink was never empty. Our first date will forever be the best first date! We made it official a week later!
During the strange times that COVID-19 has created, Aaron and Kayla began trying to do more staycations and driving trips. For their one year anniversary, they took a trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. On the drive home, they stopped at many beautiful lookouts along Beaver Lake! For Kayla's October birthday, the couple decided to make a second trip to Arkansas. This time they traveled to Bentonville, Arkansas with plans to visit the North Forest Lights at Crystal Bridges Museum and catch some great foliage at the lookouts on Beaver Lake. The morning of the proposal they had brunch in downtown Bentonville, visited a Farmer's Market, and began the 45 minute drive to the lake. When we arrived at Beaver Lake, there were many people enjoying the views! Aaron spotted a walkway to get a better look. Once we got to the top of the walkway, Kayla was now getting pretty nervous that this was THE moment. Aaron grinned the goofiest grin and after double checking that Kayla was his soul mate, dropped down on one knee and proposed! You never know until the moment what your reaction is going to be, turns out Kayla's is to jump up and down saying yes over and over again. We enjoyed the rest of our day taking pictures, exploring the North Forest Lights exhibit, and a celebratory dinner! Best birthday ever!
