We recommend renting a car so you can explore the town and region. However, If you prefer to take the train (from Paris/Strasbourg, Germany, or Switzerland) to Colmar - there is ample availability of Ubers, taxis, or other car services to and from the venue in Saint-Hippolyte (expect about 60 euros each way). See our Travel Section for details on Airports!
Typically for this time of year in Alsace it will be warm during the day (70-80 degrees Fahrenheit) and cool temperatures at night (50-60s).
For men we request wearing comfortable suits or collar shirts. No tie is necessary. For women we request festive summer cocktail dress or fancy sundress.
After the welcome wine tasting at Hotel Val Vignes, non-family guests will be on their own for dinner. The hotel does have a restaurant on site, but we recommend exploring outside the grounds as well. Below are just a few of our top choices. Reservations are recommended. Walking distance in the town of Saint Hippolyte we recommend: - Le Hupsa Pfannala If you are open to driving, Kaysersberg & Colmar will have more variety of cuisines and price points. Kaysersberg: - Alchemille - La Vieille Forge - La Table d'Olivier Nasti Colmar: - L'Arpege If you need help making a reservation email our planner email at jacquesandkayla@gmail.com
