FAQs

We will add more FAQs as we think of details you might want to know. If you have questions that we missed, you're probably not the only one, let us know!
Question

What is the best way to reach out to KayDee and Devin?

Answer

You probably have one of our numbers. Devin is best at responding to calls and texts, so feel free to reach out either way. KayDee likely won't answer her phone so it is best to text or email. If you don't have either of our numbers or email, KayDee's email is kaydeerjohnson@gmail.com.

Question

What's the best way to RSVP?

Answer

You're almost there! Click, "RSVP" in the top menu, type in your name as it's listed on your invitation, and you'll be walked through the process of RSVPing. If you run into any issues, please reach out to us and we'll help you out.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP a couple of months before the event you are attending! Your invite will have the specific date we would like you to respond by (unless your invite is for the CO reception, then it says September 1st. Which is after the celebration...)

Question

Why are there so many events on the schedule?

Answer

In order to celebrate with everybody, we have decided to have a small ceremony in the mountain with friends, and travel to our hometown to celebrate with our families and friends there. On the schedule page you will see all the events that we are planning for, but your RSVP will include the event we planned for you to attend. If there is an event that would be easier for you to attend, reach out to us to see if we can make it work!

Question

Coming to Colorado and need somewhere to stay?

Answer

We have limited space available in homes and Airbnbs, all to be shared among friends. Reach out to us to determine a plan.

Question

I'm flying or don't own camping gear, can I still camp at the Colorado Reception?

Answer

Probably! Between us and our friends who live in the mountains, we have extra gear. Reach out in advance so we can coordinate what you need to borrow. For our friends who have extra gear, if your comfortable sharing, let us know!

Question

What should I expect for the ceremony?

Answer

We will meet at the Keystone River Run base area at 10:00 AM. Please arrive on time, we will have tickets for the folks who need them, and there will be some waivers to sign before we all board the gondola together. This will be the only opportunity to get up the mountain and to the ceremony location. Once we are at the top of Keystone, we will have about a mile hike to the ceremony location and there is not quite a trail...so plan accordingly. Dress shoes are not recommended, heels are definitely a no go. Following the ceremony, we will also have to hike the mile back and ride the gondola (or chair lift) down. We will bring the beer and wine, but you should bring your water. We will proceed rain or shine outside, however lightning will shut the gondola down and we may need to relocate.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

For the ceremony, please only bring a date if they are included on your invite (they will also be included when you RSVP). For the receptions, yes!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We did our best to include everyone on your invite (and you'll be able to RSVP as a family as well) but if we missed anyone just let us know and we can update it.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

As much as we love dogs, one of ours (Albert) is a bit hit or miss with other dogs. For the ceremony, we will be bringing Harvey and Albert and ask that you leave yours somewhere safe. For the camping reception, there should be room for everyone's furry friends to have space to hang out. We recommend keeping them on leash to minimize potential doggy drama and moose encounters.

Question

What should I expect for the camping reception?

Answer

If you haven't camped at Peru Creek or haven't in a while, here is what you'll want to know: - It is first come, first served. - It is free. - There are 30 spaces available, we are planning to set up at the back two, which are fairly large, but it is of course TBD since they are first come, first served. - If you want your own space, a quieter location, etc, you are welcome to set up at any site and walk up to the party from there. - 4WD is recommended but the road varies every year. - Carpool if you can to save space for activities. - There will be snacks, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and a classic camp dinner.

Question

What is the best way to get to Keystone, CO?

Answer

If getting to Keystone requires a flight for you, you'll want to fly into Denver International Airport (DIA). You'll still have a couple hours of travel to get to Keystone. You can either take the shuttle to Summit County or rent a car. If you take the shuttle you'll arrive in Frisco which is 10-20 minutes away from our house and Keystone. The Summit Stage is our public transit and is free all around the county, and we can probably arrange to pick you up from the Frisco station. If you have questions or need rides, let us know your itinerary in advance!
