Michael and I met at our best friends’ wedding in 2021. I was a bridesmaid, he was a guest, and somehow we found each other in the middle of it all. That same weekend, the Houston freeze hit. Flights were getting canceled and plans were changing, but Michael still made it. Looking back, that feels like the start of everything. Our first date was skydiving. Not exactly the usual dinner and drinks, but it fit us from the beginning. Since then, life together has been easy in the ways that matter. Michael is my calm, my biggest supporter, and the person who makes everything feel steady. He somehow says yes to all of my ideas, even the questionable ones. We got engaged in Fredericksburg on July 5th during the Kerrville flood, because of course we did. Plans changed, but it ended up being exactly the way it be should. At the end of the day, it’s always been the same. We show up for each other, we figure it out, and we choose each other every time.
