Our story began at a little country dance hall in our town back in 2017. We both had gone with some friends to just enjoy our night and dance to some good country music. While standing on the side watching the dancers go by, I notice a really cute guy coming towards me on the dance floor and I couldn’t help myself from staring. He was dancing with another woman at the time, but my eyes were only on him. As he’s dancing by me, he notices I’m staring so he started staring back. As we are looking into eachother eyes from a distance, I notice his mouth move and the words “your next” come out. Sure enough, on the next song Obed walks up to me and asks me to dance, and of course I said yes! We then begin to dance with one another and make small talk. I had butterflies in my stomach. The song ends and we parted our ways. The night ends and we don’t see eachother again. 2 weeks go by and I return back to the country hall and as I am watching the dancers again, I see him! My heart starts racing. He once again asks me to dance and I said yes! This time, we don’t just dance once, we dance the whole night together. While dancing I gave him my number in hopes he would reach out to me later on. A few days later, I receive a text from Obed, and this was the start of our beautiful journey!

We fell hard for eachother fast, and knew pretty early on that we were meant for one another. We made so many wonderful memories over the years that we will cherish forever. Through good times and bad we stuck by eachother and chose to love one another through it. We made so many amazing friendships and went on so many great adventures together. Life was truly wonderful.

July 25, 2023 was one of the best days yet!! For what I thought was just an early birthday dinner for Obed, turned into the best proposal I could have ever asked for. With both of our families there to witness this moment, Obed got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and of course I said YES!!! Almost being with eachother for 6 years, this was one of the easiest yes’s I have ever said. After dinner, he surprised me with all of our friends gathered together to help congratulate us on our engagement!! It truly was just magical day and I will never forget it.
