This is a formal event, so tux/suits and fancy dresses (long, midi, or short). Night at the Oscars! Wear that dress you've always wanted to, and throw on some feathers and sequins. Glam it up! Remember though, we are in the jungle so appropriate footwear. No one will even be looking at your feet, so wedges, thick heels, or even sneakers are encouraged!
We see your coming as a gift, and we appreciate it because we know that making this trip can be financially difficult. If you wish to contribute a gift, we have everything we need for our home, so financial contributions to building our life together would be appreciated. Yes, you will need to book your accommodation. We are encouraging Airbnb's for those traveling in groups, but there are many small boutique and all inclusive resorts to choose from that fit all budgets! We are currently working on a code for the hotel we will be at Aloft Tulum for those that wish to stay with us!
So coming to Tulum you have a few options to consider, the first being where do I stay? Beach or town? Beach hotels are MUCH more expensive than in the town. It is also important to note that from town to beach there is ONE road and it's a 10-minute drive, but it can get backed up and take 2+ hours. If you stay in town (or partway) look for hotels that offer free shuttles to beach clubs (there will be a minimum spend at the beach club but this varies. Many places in town, be it Airbnb or hotels, also have amazing pools with stunning views. Secondly, remember that you will be bartering for taxis and there is far more to do in town daily and more walkability if this is a concern for you. If you want that beach life and experience with only a day trip to town - stay the beach.
I understand that not everyone has the budget to get the black tie dress of their dreams so I will post websites used for dress rentals! Check in the coming months...
Yes! Some people can only take off a few days and some will take a week, we want you to have the flexibility within your own budget and vacation days to plan the vacation best for you!
As much as we love your kids, this event is child-free, both for the ceremony and the reception. We hope you take this time to have an adult evening or vacation if possible. If it is only possible for one parent to attend the ceremony and one the reception to "Switch off" child care, please let us know!
Wifi is not great in Tulum, be prepared! Also, there is next to no reception along the beach area we are told. Not many ATM's but a lot of restaurants accept cards. We do also encourage bringing cash for shopping. Many places also only do cash, bring pesos...it will save you being overcharged at times. ATM's can also be out of cash so make sure you have enough until the next ATM is available for you. BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT. It is a jungle after all, douse up before the wedding as well...the wedding venue grounds will be sprayed prior to the event but be safe!
Yes, we are working on that information now, but a shuttle will be booked for the beginning and end of the event. If you wish to leave early, you will have to arrange your transportation. The event is 10 minutes from Tulum, so taxis should be easy! Drop off and pick up will be from our hotel Aloft Tulum, times TBD.
Can't believe you'd even ask that... of course!
At this time, unless the invite was addressed to you and an additional person, there are no additional guests. If this changes we will reach out to you personally regarding the change. We do encourage you to travel with your partner and make an amazing vacation, and we hope to do a group activity that partners are welcome to do as well!
